The difference between deep cleaning and regular cleaning is that it's a lot more thorough. It covers areas that aren’t traditionally covered by regular cleaning or spring cleaning, which means this type of cleaning often requires substantially more work and time. If you are renting a property, it is common for your landlord to ask for a deep clean when you move out to ensure the property is 100% clean. This is often referred to as “end of tenancy cleaning” instead.

This type of cleaning covers tasks such as the following:

  • Cleaning the floor (including removing any carpet or rug stains)
  • Cleaning furniture (e.g. inside cupboards, behind furnishings and kitchen appliances)
  • Cleaning interior and exterior window and door frames
  • Cleaning interior and exterior windows
  • Dusting ceilings, woodwork, surfaces etc.
  • Limescale removal from tiles, taps, shower heads etc.

How long does deep cleaning take?

Deep cleaning requires substantially more work and time when compared to regular domestic cleaning jobs. For instance, an in-depth clean of a two-bedroom property in an average condition can take a cleaning team up to 12 hours to complete to a good standard.
